Location of the Bukit oval. The following verbal instructions have been found useful. Proceed along the main road Nusa Dua from the airport until you come to the McDonalds traffic lights (all taxi drivers know these lights) where you turn RIGHT towards Jimbaran past The Nirmala Hotel & Shopping Centre and Jenggala Ceramic works on your right to the next traffic lights where you turn LEFT on the Uluwatu Rd; go up the steep hill and on until you see a Petrol station on your left where you turn LEFT; proceed a short way towards Udayana University and take the first road LEFT and proceed until you see the Bukit oval on your RIGHT. From cDonalds, this should take 10 – 15 minutes. If you get lost ring Alan Wilson (Mob 08123809861) or Gede Ori (Mob 081239952212).

Those teams staying at The Udayana Club will receive a free transport to and from the oval. It is suggested other teams use Blue Bird Taxis (their Headquarters are at the bottom of the hill near McDonalds) or small minibuses for transportation. For the Dinner, we will provide transport for the one km ride from the oval to our dinner venue for all visiting teams. The Transport Officer is Yussuf Wadu (Mob 082144888329)

Toilets and Changing Room.

There is a Gents changing room with its own toilet. There will also be a special toilet assigned for Ladies outside. Teams are most welcome to leave their gear in the Changing Room overnight to save bringing it backwards and forwards. The whole oval area is guarded at night.

Starting Times.

The program has been organised by Soni Hawoe (The Tournament Manager – Mob 081337226249) and your groupings and starting times on the Friday and Saturday will be sent in due course. If any teams are arriving late, please let us know. Emphasis has been placed on shortening times between games so that teams can a half day for other activities. If there are any problems re starting times, please contact Soni (Mob 081337226249).

Scorers Box.

The scorers are Sariani and Yuni and they need assistance from each team until they learn all the names and numbers. We request that one non playing member of each team playing assists the scorer during the early part of the Tournament. The scoring area should only be occupied by the scorer and these helpers.

Umpiring.

Umpiring is under the control of Brent Palfreyman (Cricket Tasmania) who is one of three Founder Members of the Bellerive oval in Hobart and has umpired at the highest level in Tasmania. All other umpires are Indonesians with ICC Level 1 umpiring certificates. A list of umpires for your games is attached with the schedule.

Rules of Play have been circulated but are attached here for reference. Attention is drawn to a slight rephrasing of the Wide rule in that ALL balls deemed by the umpire as outside leg side of the batsman are WIDES if not struck by the batsman. The white lines drawn on the wicket only refer to balls outside off for right or left handed batsmen. Also in the event of a tie on runs or points (3 for each win), the Net Run Rate will be calculated for each team involved as Total runs hit divided by wickets given. Thus if a team has hit 300 runs but gave 6 of their wickets away the NRR is 50.

Opening Ceremony is scheduled for the Saturday morning at 0930 and it would be greatly appreciated if all teams attended. We hope the Tournament will be opened by both The Rector of Udayana University and The Head of Cricket Bali, a member of The Royal Family of Ubud. The Balinese place great emphasis on welcoming visitors to their island home.

Tournament Dinner

Each team will be given tickets for their registered players for the Dinner on Saturday, which will be immediately after the final game on the Saturday at the Club House of The Udayana CC at The Udayana Kingfisher Eco Lodge (one km from the oval) starting around 1800 hours. We hope wives, partners and girlfriends will attend as extra tickets can be purchased on the night (US$ 20). Please let us know if you do need extra tickets. We hope the Dinner will be one of the highlights of the Tournament and do hope all teams will attend,

Bar and Restaurants.

The Bar will be run by members of the Udayana CC at reasonable prices and we depend on profits for our development program. We will sell Aqua, energy giving drinks, the famous Bintang Beer, white wine and soft drinks. Teams are requested not to bring their own drinks on to the oval please. There will also be a simple restaurant also run one run by the UCC and hopefully one by a local Indian restaurant.

Brochure.

The Tournament Brochure will be sent to registered teams shortly giving information on times and some information on the teams playing and our precious sponsors.
